The K–2 Time Trove introduces young learners to history through simple, engaging activities that encourage them to touch, explore, play, ask questions, and discover.

Students may explore:

  • 🌿 Historical tools and household objects, including a mortar and pestle and examples of how herbs were used

  • ✏️ Old-fashioned school experiences featuring slate writing boards and historical schoolhouse photographs

  • 🎲 Colonial-era games and toys, such as cup-and-ball, quoits, and tops

  • 🪶 Quill pens, ink, and early writing activities

  • 🥛 Historical food and household practices, including how milk was stored and how butter was made

  • 🕯️ Life before electricity, including candle holders and how light was provided

  • 🪭 Everyday objects such as hand fans that show how people stayed comfortable before modern conveniences

  • 📜 Historical photographs, stories, and background information to bring each activity to life

  • 🔎 And more hands-on surprises to discover!

Rather than simply telling children about the past, the Time Trove lets them experience pieces of history for themselves.
